The Truth
He comes, he hugs her.
"I love you," she whispers.
He hugs her tighter,
the truth.
He looks around, loves those around him.
Surprised; she clutches his hand under the table
"I love you," she mouths.
He smiles at her,
the truth.
Tugging heartstrings as he watches them twirl.
Turning left, she kisses him
"I love you," she spoke.
He stares at her lovingly,
the truth.
He breathes, heavy.
Little black box; Big diamond rock.
She squeaks, "I love you!"
He sighs, resigned. "I love you more"
Where did truth go?
It runs, fast, on flaming feet.
